District Board Approves Updated Strategic Plan Framework & Direction

The Greater Boise Auditorium District is in the midst of planning for future investments that further community engagement and facilitate events that drive local economic benefit. Here’s the latest that will inform what’s next for the District.

The board of directors selected Black River Performance Management to facilitate and update their Strategic Plan. Efforts began in December 2025 and wrapped up with the board approving the Strategic Plan Framework and Direction with a three-year planning horizon during their January 22, 2026 meeting. The Plan will serve as guidance for governance, oversight and organizational planning.

The board outlined four strategic priorities in the Plan that will guide future direction and investment opportunities.

Strategic Priorities

  • Community and Stakeholder Relationships – continue to build and strengthen partnerships, while emphasizing proactive engagement and transparency
  • District Asset Stewardship – recognize importance of maintaining current assets and service levels to support long-term financial sustainability, and community benefit
  • Evaluation of Future Projects and Partnership Opportunities- structured evaluation framework for major opportunities and partnerships to build a credible pipeline of options without pre-committing to a specific project
  • Five-Year Financial Plan- rolling five-year plan that aligns with strategic priorities and enables informed decision-making

How did the Market and Feasibility Study Influence the Strategic Plan?
The Market and Feasibility Study helped to narrow the scope of potential future projects/opportunities, while also informing the evaluation framework for assessing future opportunities based on development priorities and limited financial resources.

In the Works
During the January board meeting, the District’s exploratory committee members, Chase Erkins, Board Member and Cody Lund, Executive Director recommended further analysis of three potential development scenarios.
